City Council Approves: Utrecht Becomes Shareholder of HVC
The city council of Utrecht has decided that the city will now become co-owner of the energy and waste company HVC. Through this decision, Utrecht will collaborate with HVC to make the city free of natural gas. As a result, houses and buildings in Utrecht will be able to use district heating in the future.
This is better for the environment and ensures that the heat remains affordable and reliable. The plan should help Utrecht transition to living without natural gas more quickly.
