Camera Traffic Study at Three Locations
De gemeente Utrecht gaat kijken naar het verkeer in de stad.
The municipality of Utrecht is going to look into the traffic in the city.
In de week van 18 mei plaatst de gemeente speciale camera’s om auto’s te tellen en te controleren.
In the week of May 18, the municipality will install special cameras to count and monitor cars.
Deze camera’s heten ANPR-camera’s.
These cameras are called Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras.
Ze komen op drie plekken: bij de Monicabrug, bij de Tolsteegbrug en bij de Mariaplaats, aan de kant van de Marga Klompébrug.
They will be placed at three locations: at the Monicabrug (Monica Bridge), at the Tolsteegbrug (Tolsteeg Bridge), and at the Mariaplaats, on the side of the Marga Klompébrug (Marga Klompé Bridge).
Wanneer de camera’s hangen, begint het onderzoek.
The study will begin as soon as the cameras are installed.
Zo wil de gemeente weten welke voertuigen er rijden en kan Utrecht regels over gewicht later beter controleren.
This way, the municipality wants to know which vehicles are driving and Utrecht can better enforce regulations regarding weight in the future.
