Utrecht again opens an additional walk-in shelter during cold winter days

This winter, the municipality of Utrecht (the local government of Utrecht) is again opening an additional place where people can come inside when it is very cold. The municipality is doing this together with the Salvation Army (the international Christian charitable organization). People may enter the Lutheran Church (a Protestant church) on days when the Cold Weather Regulation is in effect.

This means that it is so cold outside that additional shelter is needed. Because of this additional location, fewer people need shelter at Herstart (a support service for homeless people). As a result, Herstart can continue providing its regular assistance.
