Fires, the Lisa case, and protest at JBS (Friday, May 1)

The wildfire near Kessel is under control, but people are still extinguishing fires near 't Harde. Kempen Airport says that the Ministry of Defense warned on Wednesday about fire danger around Budel. Commander Eichelsheim does not want to stop exercises but is taking extra measures.

The case about Lisa is set for January 18, 20, and 22. The 17-year-old Lisa died, and the suspect is staying longer at the Pieter Baan Centrum (a forensic psychiatric observation clinic). There, doctors will continue to examine him, and the court also wants more time.

On Thursday evening, the fire on the Oirschotse Heide was still not under control. The military police state that the fire started when soldiers were exercising there. Firefighting is also ongoing near Weert, 't Harde, Kessel, and Noordwijk, and the wind remains dangerous.

Greenpeace disrupted the shareholders' meeting of JBS at Schiphol. Activists entered with banners and fake blood, and shareholders ran outside. It is unclear whether the meeting continued later.
