On Monday, the Netherlands was silent for two minutes at 8:00 PM for war victims and victims of peace operations. At the Dam square in Amsterdam, the silence started after the tattoo signal by a trumpeter. According to the National Committee, there were 15,000 people there, and the commemoration proceeded calmly.

On May 4, the air raid alarm nevertheless went off in multiple locations. Around 12:00 PM, sirens sounded in Den Bosch and Rotterdam-Rijnmond. There were also reports around Eindhoven and Helmond, and according to the safety regions, this was human error.

Gilze-Rijen Air Base was partially evacuated on Monday afternoon due to a suspicious situation. The cause was a video on social media of a man on the premises. Police, military police (marechaussee), and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) found nothing, and flights will continue on Tuesday.

In Rotterdam, the police shot a man in Hoogvliet on Monday. That happened around 6:15 PM after a report, and he was taken to the hospital. In Eindhoven, the police arrested a 15-year-old boy after an explosion.
