Due to a fire in a cable duct, no trains are running south of Rotterdam this week. Trains to Belgium, France, and the high-speed line to Breda are also not running. ProRail says that a kink in a power cable caused the fire.

At least one hundred cables need to be inspected or replaced. The disruption is expected to be over by Saturday afternoon.

Canada will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest starting from 2027. The organizers announced this. Canada is the first new country since Australia in 2015.

Videoland is acquiring Viaplay Netherlands for 142 million euros. As a result, there will be a lot of live sports, such as Formula 1 and the Premier League. DPG Media says that subscribers will keep their app and subscription for the time being.

The acquisition still needs to be approved. At Wimbledon, Jannik Sinner reached the third round after a win against Nuno Borges. Aryna Sabalenka also advanced, Serena Williams lost in her comeback, and Sony will stop releasing new PlayStation games on disc starting January 2028.
