World title, budget, sabotage, pope and banks (Sunday, September 27)

Demi Vollering became the road world champion for the first time in Montreal. The Dutch rider was the leading favorite in the 180-kilometer World Championship race. She rode alone for a long time and held off Kasia Niewiadoma in the sprint.

The Banking Disciplinary Law Foundation (Stichting Tuchtrecht Banken, an organization overseeing disciplinary proceedings for banks) is ceasing its activities and dissolving itself. The foundation monitored whether banks complied with the bankers’ oath. According to the foundation, continuing is pointless because banks are blocking improvements.
