Reader briefing email privacy
Updated 6 September 2026.
The reader briefing is optional and separate from your account and learning emails. We record your email address, selected news language, consent version and request/confirmation times. We start sending only after you confirm your email address.
We use Resend to deliver your confirmation and briefing emails. Each briefing includes an unsubscribe link. We do not add you to the product announcement list or sell your email address.
Unconfirmed requests are removed after 7 days. An unsubscribe takes effect immediately for queued emails; an email already being sent may still arrive. Unsubscribed reader records are removed after 30 days. Delivery records are kept for up to 90 days to prevent duplicate sends and troubleshoot delivery. Bodies are cleared after the provider accepts a send, or when a retry expires.
We limit signup requests using short-lived counters and a keyed hash of the email address. Counter records expire after one day. We do not store an IP address in the reader newsletter system.
Website signup and confirmation analytics run only if you accept analytics cookies; email addresses and confirmation/unsubscribe tokens are not included in those events. Email links contain generic campaign labels so consented visits can be attributed to the briefing. Resend also processes delivery records under its privacy policy. The retention periods above describe our application database.
Deleting an EasyDutchNews account also deletes reader briefing records for the same email address. Account data exports include these records. To request access, correction or deletion without an account, email privacy@easydutchnews.com. See our privacy policy for controller details and your data rights.
