The Out-of-Hours GP Service
Do you have a medical problem that cannot wait until your own GP is open again? Then you can call the out-of-hours GP service outside of normal opening hours. This service especially helps during evenings, nights, and weekends.
Find the phone number and operating procedure of the service in your region in advance. Usually, a staff member first assesses by telephone what is needed. Do not just go to a service without contacting them if the local instructions say that you should call first.
If there is immediate danger to life, call 112. For complaints that can wait, make an appointment with your own GP. If unsure, the out-of-hours GP service can tell you the best next step.

De huisartsenpost buiten kantooruren
Heb je een medisch probleem dat niet kan wachten tot je eigen huisarts weer open is? Dan kun je buiten de normale openingstijden de huisartsenpost bellen. Die helpt vooral in de avond, nacht en het weekend.
Zoek van tevoren het telefoonnummer en de werkwijze van de post in jouw regio. Vaak beoordeelt een medewerker eerst telefonisch wat nodig is. Ga niet zomaar zonder contact naar een post als de lokale instructie zegt dat je eerst moet bellen.
Bij direct levensgevaar bel je 112. Voor klachten die wel kunnen wachten, maak je een afspraak met je eigen huisarts. Als je twijfelt, kan de huisartsenpost je vertellen welke stap passend is.

112 in Case of Immediate Life Danger
Call 112 if there is immediate danger to life or if urgent help from the police, fire brigade, or ambulance is needed. This is an emergency number. For an ordinary medical appointment, use your general practitioner (GP) or, outside office hours, the out-of-hours GP service.
The control room will ask where you are and what has happened. Listen to the questions and answer as clearly as possible. Do not hang up until the operator tells you that you can.
If you do not know the exact address, mention a recognisable place and check if your location is visible on your phone. The control room will tell you what to do next.

112 bij direct levensgevaar
Bel 112 als er direct levensgevaar is of als dringend hulp van politie, brandweer of ambulance nodig is. Het is een noodnummer. Voor een gewone medische afspraak gebruik je de huisarts of, buiten openingstijden, de huisartsenpost.
De meldkamer vraagt waar je bent en wat er is gebeurd. Luister naar de vragen en geef zo duidelijk mogelijk antwoord. Hang niet op voordat de medewerker zegt dat het kan.
Ken je het precieze adres niet, noem dan een herkenbare plek en kijk of je locatie op je telefoon staat. De meldkamer vertelt wat je vervolgens moet doen.
