Tijdelijke opvanglocatie Europalaan wordt duurzame asielopvang
Temporary shelter location Europalaan becomes sustainable asylum shelter
De gemeente Utrecht gaat het kantoorpand aan de Europalaan 44 gebruiken voor asielzoekers.
The municipality of Utrecht (a city in the Netherlands) is going to use the office building at Europalaan 44 for asylum seekers.
Dit gebouw is sinds mei 2024 een tijdelijke opvangplek.
This building has been a temporary shelter since May 2024.
Als de gemeenteraad akkoord gaat, wordt het gebouw verbouwd.
If the city council agrees, the building will be renovated.
Dan kunnen er vanaf 2028 maximaal 385 asielzoekers wonen.
From 2028, up to 385 asylum seekers can live there.
Ze kunnen hier maximaal 15 jaar blijven.
They can stay here for a maximum of 15 years.
Utrecht heeft ook andere opvanglocaties.
Utrecht also has other shelter locations.
Bij deze locaties werkt men volgens Plan Einstein.
At these locations, they work according to Plan Einstein (a cooperative integration plan).
Dit plan helpt vluchtelingen, bedrijven, buren en andere mensen in de stad om samen te werken.
