Municipality of Utrecht (Utrecht) commits to equal opportunities for student housing

The municipality of Utrecht, SSH (SSH, a student housing corporation), the student tenants' association BoKS (BoKS), senior secondary vocational education (mbo), higher professional education (hbo) and university education (wo), and VIDIUS (VIDIUS, a student organization) are making an agreement. They want to make it easier to find housing for students who face additional difficulties. For example, mbo students or students with disabilities.

The parties are also working on a system for hospiteren. In that system, a student seeking housing would have an equal chance of getting a home through hospiteren as of getting one without hospiteren. Furthermore, the parties want to build more non-self-contained units, such as rooms with a shared kitchen or bathroom.

They want to reduce the large shortage of student housing. This is set out in a covenant that is being signed today.
