75 years of Moluccan history are part of Amsterdam's life story
In 1951 kwamen vier grote schepen vol met Molukse militairen en hun gezinnen aan in Amsterdam.
In 1951, four large ships full of Moluccan soldiers and their families arrived in Amsterdam.
Deze mensen dachten dat ze maar kort in Nederland zouden blijven.
These people thought they would only stay in the Netherlands for a short time.
Maar ze bleven toch voor altijd.
But they ended up staying forever.
Dit is het verhaal van de Molukse Nederlanders die sinds die tijd in Nederland wonen.
This is the story of the Moluccan Dutch people who have lived in the Netherlands since that time.
