Camera Traffic Study at Three Locations

The municipality of Utrecht is going to look into the traffic in the city. In the week of May 18, the municipality will install special cameras to count and monitor cars. These cameras are called Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras.

They will be placed at three locations: at the Monicabrug (Monica Bridge), at the Tolsteegbrug (Tolsteeg Bridge), and at the Mariaplaats, on the side of the Marga Klompébrug (Marga Klompé Bridge). The study will begin as soon as the cameras are installed. This way, the municipality wants to know which vehicles are driving and Utrecht can better enforce regulations regarding weight in the future.
