Investments in July Almost the Same as a Year Earlier

In July 2026, companies in the Netherlands spent approximately the same amount of money on major items, such as machinery and buildings, as they did in July 2025. The difference is very small: 0.1 percent more than last year. This was reported by Statistics Netherlands (Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek, CBS).
Investment in machinery was higher than last year. This also includes equipment for the military. However, companies spent less money on aircraft, buildings, roads, and cars.
Growth was higher in June. At that time, companies spent 2.8 percent more than a year earlier. Statistics Netherlands also said that the figures were not adjusted for the number of working days, but July had the same number of working days in both years.
In August, conditions for investment had become slightly less favorable. This was mainly because the Netherlands exported fewer goods abroad than a year earlier. The figures are provisional.
