Investigation into Traffic Safety at Three Roundabouts in Utrecht
A new investigation into the safety of three roundabouts is starting in Utrecht. This investigation is being conducted together with the SWOV Institute (Institute for Road Safety Research). Both the municipality of Utrecht and the province of Utrecht are participating.
They are focusing on three roundabouts in Utrecht: Tiberdreef-Arnodreef, Landschapsbaan-Europaweg, and Prins Bernhardplein. They are installing cameras at these locations. With these cameras, they observe how people behave in traffic.
They pay attention to how busy it is, how fast people drive, and whether it is dangerous for cyclists and pedestrians. The goal is to better understand where danger may occur so they can make the roundabouts safer for everyone.
