New in the streetscape of Utrecht: containers for vegetable, fruit, and food waste

New containers are now placed on the streets in Utrecht. People can throw away vegetable, fruit, and food waste in these containers. The municipality wants the waste to be collected more sustainably.

A lot of residual waste still consists of vegetable, fruit, and food waste. These leftovers can be reused. That is why the municipality has made and placed special GFE (vegetable, fruit, and food) containers.

Currently, these containers are located in some neighborhoods. Not the entire city has these containers yet. The municipality will do this step by step.
